In a society where sex and culture are so
prominently advocated through media, why
should it be so difficult to come up with an
original conceptual approach?
If you are trying to make a comparison to the
show (ICK) you'll need to do a better job at
mimicking your inspiration.
If you are trying to teach a lesson about
sex, and its influence on modern society you
hardly need the pop culture reference to make
an impact.
Dig deeper, look at some other designs, do
some sketching, free writing, whatever it
takes to take this idea from infancy stages
into a hardcore concept and let THAT drive
your graphics.

I shot this title down in one our meetings,
when the series was about sex. Mostly because
I'm annoyed that women like that show, or
rather the content. And I didn't want to
perpetuate the idea. (and I'm steadfast
against direct TV references)
But if you've already made up your mind that
that's what you're gonna call it: Try to make it look vastly different than
what those words ordinarily conjure up.
Thanks for all the feedback. I did try to
shoot this down in our meeting, however
everyone else was for it. I don't come up
with the title, I work with whatever is
decided upon by the senior pastor and other
staff members. I do have some say, but was
the minority in this one. I can try again to
push the issue, as this series has gotten
pushed back in favor of a series on financial
peace.
In answer to the questions above, the series
is about sex and relationships, and it is my
job to create a master graphic that is used
for mailers, posters, outside banners and
indoor banners.
May I also add that i took the graphics
department (which didn't exist before me)
based on a great need for someone to run with
it at our church. I'm very much a beginner at
it, having almost no prior knowledge in
design. I am finding more and more that I do
enjoy it though, however i'm lost on most
definitions of design lingo, or how to carry
them out. I'm learning on Photoshop, and am
doing the best i can to learn what i can.

Can you explain more about the concept behind this design? I get that it's a reference to the tv show/movie but i'm curious to see why YOU chose that.
I'll keep my opinion about the design until i can understand where it's coming from.

Are you trying to make this look like a postcard?

We definitely need more details before we can help you.
Is that title set? Do you have the option to change it? You're going to get eye rolls from your community if you don't go somewhere else.
