Moyer House - Moyers Corners

This is a shot of the Moyer House taken from the very busy four corners. Now a little bit of history: Built in the 1860s, first owner was Jacob Moyer, followed by other members of the Moyer family into the 1900s giving Moyers Corners its name even to this day. The exterior is much as it was when it was built with the exception of some changes to the cupola and an addition which was added to the side of the building. It stands on the site of the first post office established in Clay called "West Cicero Station" (Clay was still part of Cicero at this time). Nathan Teall was appointed first postmaster on June 20, 1825. When Jacob Moyer bought the property is was callled "Tealls Corners". In 1939 Philip and Edith Brand bought the house. In 1946 their daughter, Irene Brand Bort, brought her new husband to live there. In 1967 when Edith passed away, her heirs sold the house E. Annie Billops and it then became a craft and antique shop. It was then sold again to Ed and Pam Mironiuk who also had a antique shop. Recently it has become a salon and day spa. It is the only historic structure on this modernly developed and extremly busy four corners. Located on the corner of Route 31 and Route 57 in Clay, NY.
