Beech Tree Avenue, Kingston Lacey, Dorset

Beech Tree Avenue, Kingston Lacey, Dorset

Drove through here a couple of weeks ago, which reminded me of some old shots from last spring i hadn't processed... taken almost a year ago, shortly after sunrise, of part of the 2 mile beech tree Avenue at Kingston Lacey, Dorset. Not as easy to photograph these days as large numbers of the 200 year old trees have been removed or have limbs lopped off.

Amazing the number of half asleep drivers at 6am who thought i was operating a speed camera and slowed right down as they went past me... ironic really, as i wanted them to speed up and get out the shot!

Apologies to my contacts for my lack of uploads and comments recently. Work should be easing off over the next couple of months, so i should have some quality time for photography again.. I'll catch up on your photostreams asap

Burton Bradstock, Dorset - Low Tide

Burton Bradstock, Dorset - Low Tide

One of my favourite Dorset places with or without the camera. The fabulous sandstone cliffs at Burton Bradstock, West Dorset. The foreground rock ledges only reveal themselves at extreme low tides on a handful of days per year. I got lucky with the weather on this visit. Milliseconds after pressing the shutter, both of my wellies were filled by the incoming tide !!

Apologies for the lack of comments recently, work commitments have taken over the past couple of months. Thanks to those contacts who e-mailed me to check that i was still alive and well!
I will catch up with your photostreams as soon as possible.

Autumn at Stourhead Gardens, Wiltshire

Autumn at Stourhead Gardens, Wiltshire

Too early into autumn for any colours like this yet. This is one from last year i've recently reprocessed, looking across the lake to the Pantheon at the NT gardens at Stourhead, Wiltshire.
This was the best light i received during a number of trips there and from memory lasted about a minute! Remember it well as i had to run back to the tripod in my wellies as i wasnt expecting it and was chatting with a groundskeeper !
Hopefully in another month or so i can get some blue sky when the gardens are at their best.

Hay Bales, Dorset - Summer Evening

Hay Bales, Dorset - Summer Evening

A newly bailed field near Wimborne, Dorset close to sunset. This was the very last of the sunshine for the day and the field was in full shade a few seconds later

Fleet Lagoon, Dorset - Flooded Boat (2)

Fleet Lagoon, Dorset - Flooded Boat (2)

Another archive shot whilst i've nothing recent to share...
A flooded boat in the Fleet Lagoon at twilight last winter. The tide was coming in but, thanks to this boat's extra 'ballast', a time exposure was possible without any boat movement.
