As we were driving home from church, Eric suggested that we should go for a hike at the Waterman Center. Even though I was feeling kind of chilly and tired, I figured that going for a walk would probably be a good idea, since I've been so sedentary lately.

As it turned out, Eric's idea was brilliant. I had never been to the Waterman Center, and the hike through the woods--with the gorge and the creek and just a touch of snow--was lovely.

We'll have to go back in the spring and take along my waterproof camera!

We walked downtown today to go birthday present shopping. As you can see, it was nice out....too "nice" for January, as far as I'm concerned. I'd rather have giant piles of snow!

It was really nice to spend the afternoon together in our town. We are very lucky.
