The Columns at the University of Missouri

Notes: I processed this 3 image HDR via Rob Hanson's Shadowmapping technique described here. I could have processed this with a bit more of a dramatic contrast to illustrate this technique better but go to his site to find out how.

By way of contrast, this is a three image HDR processed "traditionally" but later lots of edits with curves and selective dodge and burn. The Shadowmapping technique produced a bit richer colors and more over contrast without the detailed post processing after HDR.

Fantastic treatment on this image, DJ. It's especially nice to be able to see the same image rendered in two different processing styles. I think that this 'shadowmapped' version is exactly what this type of HDR should be: sharp, realistic, and 'deep.'

I'm delighted that you used the technique to such good effect.

Beautifully done and I like shadowmapped version much more. Love how the columns balances out the building.

Well done. This is how HDR is supposed to be done. It improved the image without making it look like an airbrushed monstrosity.
