The emptiest chair I've ever seen ...
It lives round the back of my potting shed.

There's almost nothing left of it - or, from another point of view, it's the Idea of a chair, trying to gain substance...

Ooh blimey don't sit on that - you'll never get out! This is a great shot, the colours and light are really wintery x

Nice light and I like how you can see the grain in it, as if it is trying to stay alive just that little bit longer. but I also think it should go on your spring bonfire ,in the interests of health and safety :-))

Beautiful - love how it's engulfed in all that sweeping grass - as if it's part of a giant bird's nest.

i love the low shadows, the dry crispy grass and the sodden green-ness of the chair. i can imagine that musty smell too - something comforting about it. :-) lovely ML

What a sad pic of what could be a beautiful chair! Its a really great image as Sara said lovely light! I think you should save the chair not burn it. : )

This will return as coal in 10,000 years time,it's just beginning its journey back into the ground. This is recycling taking the long view.
Great shot Mrs L,love the light and shadows, and the lovely woody tones.
Everyone must have an old chair in their garden.I do - unfortunately they are green and plastic, and I pretend i can't see them.

Fading away, bit by bit, soon it'll be gone...Lovely shot, with great detail & texture, interesting play of light & dark.

the construction is pure 'utility'. Sad old thing.

Thanks, everyone.
Dave, I like bonfires, but I'm tempted to let this one continue to deteriorate naturally, as Lynette suggests. I may have to take a picture in the summer, when it's completely swamped in green.

Nice texture and just the right amount of colours, it actually makes a very good photo! Why not use it as a flower pot holder? if it's at the back of your potting shed is't bound to come in use... i just really like "recycled" arty stuff in gardens.. ☺

Yes, Mrs Logic, swamped in green but hope you will not lose the right time to shoot the emptiness. Too late, then we might only see greeeeeeeeeeeeens. ^^ P

Fantastic play of shadows you captured Mrs. Logic. Is it not a joy to discover forgotten motives?

Superb shot. I suspect too many beans involved in this chairs' chequered past... ;-)
