low water in lake volta
ghana gets almost all of its power from hydroelectric. last year the government allowed too much water use so this year the power is out every other day (for 12 hours, alternating night/day). so the first night i was in ghana we were sitting in the dark (until we got tired of it and went somewhere with a generator).
