So Fierce!

So Fierce!

Had a blast photographing some beautiful ladies for Extend and Mend International's promo and marketing materials.

It feels really good to finally be able to share these images. I had a blast with each one of them!

Seriously, these ladies are FIERCE!!

You can see more from this shoot over at the blog (YES! I finally blogged something!!) :D

Be Still, Still Life.

Be Still, Still Life.

Assignment Three of Project 52: A Simple Still Life

Almost so late on this one! It's been a rough week.

TWO lumopro 160's of mine need to be sent back to the manufacturer because they went faulty - either they are not communicating via hotshoe mount (the one at my work) or the bulb went out or whatever, but its not flashing for anything anymore. sigh.

tried out my origami skills making a boat small enough for this shot lol.

Strobist Info: LP160 @35mm 1/64th in my DIY 10"x10" softbox with Kerry holding the clear plate of those aqua beads/gems (the ones that are super small until they get water in them) about 5 inches above the softbox.

shot downwards using a hotshoe flash at 1/32 bouncing off the ceiling aka using it to trigger the LP160.

Assignment four is an editorial. I have THE PERFECT subject. I just need to ask her.

Whip It.

Whip It.

It has occurred to me that lately my self portraits have been more of my hair and less of my face.

Not that I dont want to show my face, just that it's really late here and I'm suffering from insomnia and have zero motivation to do more than whip my hair around. ;)

I'm hoping I do more conceptual self portrait work OUTSIDE and DURING THE DAY more often.

past midnight studio work is cool an all, but it's not always me. ;)

You Push Me

You Push Me

I strive to make an impact - Good or Bad. I want people to stop and look, to think, and connect with me - all without me saying a single word. I AM my photograph.

When all Hell breaks loose, I make it work

Lighting Essentials' Project 52:
Assignment 1: Vision Statement

Hi All, it has been a while since I've done a self portrait. Like a *true* Zee Self-Portrait.

I've started Don Giannatti's Project 52. I figured it was time - since I have been following his blog Essentials for Photographers aka Lighting Essentials for about two years now. I've missed being conceptually creative.

So for 2012 I'm going back to my roots, shooting things that make me happy, finding some time to do "me" things.

I'm behind on the project (obviously) since the first critique is tomorrow (yikes!) but it's now or never!

Here's to a good 2012, where I find myself again, get back to what I really want to do with my photography - make a difference. And to do that, I first must make an impact. ;)

Until next time.... I may or may not blog this, but you should probably go check out the blog for good stuff

and for all you strobist people: one AB800 1/16 shoot thru white umbrella camera right, camera on remote release with HVL56FM triggering at 1/32 zoomed 50mm. Post work done in CS5

P.S. I have been listening to Maroon 5's Never Gonna Leave this Bed since the beginning of this project, it seemed fitting to grab some inspiration from them.

P.S.S. that's my living room wall - its large, white and pretty legit for studio work ;)
