This is my favourite photograph of all time. It was taken by photographer Jeff Widener during the Tiananmen Square Massacre of 1989 in China. He took this photograph at great personal risk.
The identity of the man standing in-front of the army tanks is unknown. His courage and defiance in the face of a brutal communist regime seems unparalleled.
It is believed that 'Tank Man' was probably executed by the secret police following this incident, however, he is immortalised through this image.
