pity to think that these once fine buildings ending up in the food chain at the lowest level, but with recession, drink drive laws, new governmental austerity measures, these fine buildings might or might not be saved by the lowest life form in the pond

Opened as the Ritz in 1937, by Central Pictures Theatre (Lincoln) Taken over by the Rank Group in 1956 and be came the Odeon. Barry Stead then became its proprietor in 1985 and became the Ritz Cinema/Theatre until 1995, in 2004 the front of the building on the High Street opened as a Wetherspoon`s Pub which still is today.
In early January 2012, it was announced that the main 1.600 auditorium and balcony which still remain intact could be convented and open as a cinema and youth club, with Wetherspoon`s still operating their public house.
