    (Our Daily Challenge - BUTTONS)
    (112 in 2012 - #23 - TECHNOLOGY)

Ok, I admit it, I am a gadget geek. :-) A friend of mine showed me her new gadget, it's called a Fitbit. It tracks the number of steps, distance, calories, you have walked/run and syncs it online so you can track your activity for the day. It even tracks your sleep when you wear it on your wrist at night, telling you how long it took you to go to sleep, how many times you awoke during the night, etc.

It's only about 2 inches long and you just clip it to your pants, throw it in your pocket, etc. It has only one little button that scrolls through the number of steps, distance, calories, clock and a little flower that grows the more active you are. I got mine 2 days ago and I've been a little paranoid about losing it since it's so small or forgetting to take it off and throwing it into the laundry or something.

This was my first full day of using it from this weekend, I went about 20k steps or about 8 miles. It helped that it was the weekend and I did a 6+ mile hike so that will definitely NOT be a usual number of steps for me on an average day. Since this is my first time wearing it on a weekday, I'll be curious to see how many steps I take when I'm sitting at a desk all day working.

I'm got it mostly because I am hoping it will motivate me to move a little more when I am at work as I am really bad about not taking breaks when I'm at work. Plus, I'll admit it, it's a nice little gadget... :-)

Joanne good for you! :-) I do have to say it kept me motivated today at work to get up and take a break. It's a fun little gadget, I'm just afraid of losing it because its so small!
