I chose a farm in northern central Japan b/c it is supposed to be a beautiful region. (Another train pic.)
Also, I'd visited Takayama a year and a half before and it's a nice town.

The farm and the farmhouse.
Japan's summer is also very hot, so I picked a cool place. It's at over 4,500 ft. elevation.
