Trim

Trim

This is just a chance to show-off Chris' carpentry skills and the fact that we were able to repurpose the leftover cultured marble from the shower to make a window sill.

The ceiling!

The ceiling!

May not be interesting to most, but I thought I'd point out two awesome features of the bathroom: the solar tube (like a skylight but less leaky) - lets in lots of natural light during the day, which is great for a north-facing room; and the bathroom fan, which is very powerful but also very quiet - totally worth the money.

Light fixture + Mirror

Light fixture + Mirror

This is where things got interesting:

I go to the ReStore fairly regulary, just to see what's there. I had wanted an unframed, bevelled mirror which the local glass and mirror store in town quoted me new for $260. Then I found this one at the ReStore for $25. Deal, deal, deal.

The light fixture is completely unabashedly retro and was $5. Oh happy days. After spending ridiculous amounts of money on the shower and bathtub, we were relived to save some dough!

Oh, and that toilet paper holder? $5 at a great place called "Wholley Crap" here in town, which sells used construction materials (like the Habitat ReStore). You may think that's what a toilet paper holder is SUPPOSED to cost, but just take a look at Home Depot sometime and prepare yourself for the sticker shock...
