My dad was there as a young Marine during WW2...they were sent there for R&R between assaults on Japanese-held islands. He never mentioned Murder Burgers, or any burgers for that matter, but he had a lot to say about the women there. Big, strong, and very sexy. He talked about the open generosity of the Kiwi's at the USO's and in their homes. He and my mother corresponded for years with a happily married woman my dad had met in Christchurch.

I once got a special burger from this place that is still one of the best I have ever had: veggie/garden burger with lots of yummy bacon piled on top! Really they have good burgers, highly recommend!
