One of my neighbors is from Yamagata prefecture in Japan which is famous for the best cherries. She gives me these precious fruit every year when her mother in Yamagata sends them to her. Wow!

Japanese cherries are usually in colors from yellowish orange to pure red unlike the dark red American cherries, btw.
