Getting Soaked at Boynton Beach Inlet

Getting Soaked at Boynton Beach Inlet

I have Lived in South Florida for years and for some reason have never taken the time to drive the 20 minutes to come here for the sunrise. This definitely will not be the last time I make a visit here.

Composing and capturing this shot was very difficult. Every 45 seconds to a minute a large wave would rise up out of the seemingly flat ocean, leaving me stranded with no where to run as a was stuck between these large moss covered slippery rocks. When a wave would come I had to shoot grab the camera and turn my back covering the camera with my body! I got soaked, the camera got wet several times (nothing serious) and I was constantly wiping the spray from the salt water off of my lens. This represents one of the smaller less wet waves of the morning.

more from this morning and location coming soon!

City Limits

City Limits

Here is another one form last night at Boca Raton Inlet. A long exposure smoothed out the pounding waves as I caught the last bit of light remaining in the sky. Where I am standing is Boca Raton. The lights and the pier in distance is Deerfield Beach. The next town over.
