I accidentally took a wrong turn in Island Park during work and ended up at Yellowstone. Oops! Anyway, saw this elk, he had a herd of cows with him (about 7 or 8). He was keeping a close eye on them.

Bad time of day as far as light is concerned, but hey when its the Tetons, its hard to mess up. My dad and I were out trying to find places that are not so "well known" like schwabachers and mormon row. We found this little place that we will probably visit again.

I have been busy with school, and shooting all kinds of people pictures (family pictures, weddings, bridals, school pictures, etc..) and haven't had time to do the pictures I really like to do. I really don't like photographing people, but it pays for the equipment, so it is necessary. Unless anyone wants to buy some prints. HAHA

Shot this on the side of the road near squirrel. I thought about doing this HDR, but it ruined the silhouette and the dramatic mood of the shot. I am glad I have HDR as a tool, and sometimes it is very usefeul, but I also think it is over used. Just my 2 cents.

This was shot on the way up to Mesa Falls. There were so many flowers, finding just the right composition was tricky and took me quite a while. This little flower looked like it was reaching up to the sky trying to find some sunlight.

This was shot with my Canon 300 f/4. I am really loving this lens. It is a hard lens to get just right, but when you do, it offers beautiful results. I also like that it is a prime. There is something intriguing about primes, not just their sharpness, but something about having to really concentrate on composition.

Went to Schwabachers with my Dad. We got there a touch late because my dad missed the turn while I was getting his camera ready. Luckily, it turned out just perfect. We got there just in time to witness a beautiful sunrise. Then the rest of the day we were so tired from getting up at 3:30. Was it worth it? I'll answer that with another question. Do steers try?
