What a face!!
This beautiful shot of Kambula was the last time
that I saw him. I miss him so much!

Sunbathing Kambula!!
This was one of the first shots I ever took of Kambula. This was the day that I fell in love with him.
I miss you Bula!!
I did go back to the zoo this Sunday.
Seeing Carrie his keeper made me feel much better. He spent his last days very happy.
RIP my dear friend Kambula.
You will be missed!

Mourning Kambula
My dear flickr friends. Those of you that know my animal photos know that my favorite was Kambula. Kambula passed away Thursday February 26, 2009.
After Kambula was diagnosed with abdominal abscesses and heart disease in recent weeks, the Zoo’s veterinary team began intensive
medical treatments to help treat his condition and ease any discomfort. Unfortunately, after the abscesses were surgically treated he continued to lose heart function.
My heart goes out to Kambula's caretakers. I know you loved him and are grieving today.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
I am mourning the loss of a close friend today. Going back to the zoo will never be the same!
RIP my dear friend Kambula.
