mariška posing, black&white

mariška posing, black&white

She is a real beauty, isn't she? With those adorable eyes ...
I did like the b&w version a bit more than the color, i don't know why. Perhaps because of the sun, it's falling on her from a nice angle ..

swans on frozen Drava river, Maribor

swans on frozen Drava river, Maribor

It's cold these days out here. Really cold. I don't remember seeing ice on Drava river never before. Today it was my day off at work, so i decided to go for a short walk to the city, to the so called Lent, riverside of Drava. I was surprised how many people were out on the streets, despite of the cold weather. And the best of all, a lot of people do remember of the poor animals in these days, there really was a crowd here, everyone feeding the poor birds. So at least they are not hungry. I do believe it is a shock to them, they really aren't used to these temperatures and they have no warm apartment to hide in. So their best option is to stick together and try to warm each other ..
People, please remember of the animals, be nice to them these cold days, even more than usually ..

telašćica cliffs, dugi otok, croatia

telašćica cliffs, dugi otok, croatia

If you'll ever sail or be on a boat around kornati islands, you really need to visit telašćica national park. You need to pay entrance fee, but the overnight mooring fee on a buoy is included in the price.
After we spent the night moored (very safe place) we took the dinghy and went for a "trip on foot" to the "hill" and on the other side we had this spectacular view towards west, italy. Cliffs are somewhere around 160m high (correct me, if i'm wrong) and the water bellow is 80m deep (according to the sonar). The view is really breathtaking and these are the highest cliffs in mediterranean sea, so you should not miss them, if you're in this area. Locals are calling them "stene" (walls).
You've ever been there? Share a photo here!

butterfy

butterfy

Well, i've never done some real macro photography and when i tried to take this shot i've found out that i really don't have the tools for it. As so many times before, i left half of my photo gear at home (yes, i do have a large photo bag and yes, all the gear fits in, but ....), so all that i had was my camera, half full batteries, only the 17-85mm lens and and the ex430ii flash. So my only option was to shoot at 85mm f/5,6, but this small beauty just would not stay still. I've tried to freeze him (or her?) with flash, but didn't want to destroy the nice warm light from the sun, so i ended up with this shot, with minimum motion blur as i could do.
I'm not fully satisfied with this one, but for one of my first attempts at macro and with this lens - it could be worse ..

pirates in the sunset, mediterranean sea

pirates in the sunset, mediterranean sea

We were sailing around the hundreds of croatian islands, and we had sunsets like this one every night. We did not moor in marina, because we prefer to spent the night more in nature, in complete silence, nothing but water and some lonely islands around you. Se when you spend the night moored on a buoy or anchoring, you really get connected with the nature. And i think this is what sailing is about. I've made a lot of photos with sunsets like this one, but this "pirates" style sailboat looks interesting, that is why i decided to share this one with you, my friends.
