Miami Beach Lifeguard Tower

Miami Beach Lifeguard Tower

A very colorful lifeguard tower on South Beach in Miami makes a nice contrast against the turquoise water. It is interesting to note that these are built on skids--I guess so that they can be moved if necessary. Also, they are marked with the street number--in this case, 10th Street. The flags indicate beach conditions--in this case, red for high winds and the purple stands for dangerous marine life (jellyfish).

Growing Up On a Beach

Growing Up On a Beach

This is a small plant that was growing from a handful of seaweed that washed up on the beach on Fort Lauderdale, FL. The sea and the stormy skies form the background for this image.

Taken with Nikon D300 and Nikkor 50mm f1.4G at f2.
