Through The Looking Glass

    decluttr

I took this at the Academy. As I waited there to take photos I noticed that kids and adults act completely different when they see something that interests them. Adults will look at something, in a reserved manor, as if they're pondering it, and trying to figure it out while not letting other people know they are interested in it.

Kids on the hand, will try and put themselves as close as possible to what they like. In this circumstance, the kids press their faces as close as possible to the glass, touch the glass, get as close as possible. It's interesting. They have no reservations as to looking interested.

That frame simply works. Whether for the colors in the background or the people (especially the children) in the foreground. Beautifully taken.

Wow, Very interesting image. The composition is spectacular, I love the black color of the image in contrast with the colors of the inside part of the glass. The tones are nice, Good work! (Sorry for my bad english)

Great composition, really like this. I agree that the contrast of the black with the rest of the colours works really well. I like how in the very center of the photograph there are two kids, it gives it more of a fascinating appeal to it. THere is a great sense of depth portrayed in this photograph too which I very much like :)
      Super shot, thanks for sharing!

My initial impression was great photo with good impact and very interesting. As you usay its a shot more about the people looking into the tank as the contens of it. I like the outlines of the adults there is enough to clearly make out who all the subjects are with the main focus on the children in the light and centre. They help give a feeling of exploration and wonderment of what is through the looking glass. Very nice photo.

This is very good, it reminds me quite a bit of the Joseph Wright painting "An Experiment on a Bird...," mostly because of the black surround and the only well-lit subjects are the two children. The poses of the children suggest an air of wonder and interest which is reinforced with the colourful seascape they are viewing.

I like this photo. I like the silhuettes and the mysterious feel of the "hole looking into the sea". There's action here: the guy taking a photo and the two people in the center who may be talking to eachother. Then there's the person peaking in from the left.

The issue here is not so much in the detail of what the acquarium contains but in the impression created by the only light in the photo coming from the water and the action that is silhuetted against it. There is enough detail visible to be able to tell what is and that's all that's needed.

also like the ring formed by the concrete that the window is set in. It brings dof and adds another lit dimension to the photo so that the picture is not limited to the dichotomybetween a lit circle (the window) and the dark surroundings.

A fun shot. I can almost feel like I was there.

great composition (but you already knew that)
What makes it very strong for me is the exposure/ lighting. Everything outside the window is completely blacked out, including the adults. In the very center are the two kids, with soft light on them to distinguish them, peering into a world they probably haven't seen before. Perfectly captured image that backs up your observations very well. Goes to show the caliber of image that can be taken if you just wait for it to happen.

      Amazing composition.
The use of the fish tank window for framing is amazing.
The colors inside are also amazing.... I love underwater stuff.
