I've been freezing my buns off in the studio today. When I took a
lunch break, I was in the mood for hearty, core warming sustenance.
So, tomato soup and crusty cheesy bread it was!
Over the weekend, we practically LIVED on antelope stew. It was so delicious, tender and tatery. Every time I took a bite, I felt so thankful for the beast that was my food. Which reminds me, I already tweeted this, but a few days ago I put in for a cow elk tag in the Island Lake unit of Idaho (greater West Yellowstone area). I hope I am drawn, I have a 50/50 chance of getting that tag. If I do get drawn, it's going to be SUCH hard work. Can you imagine me, little me, packing portions of a field dressed elk ten miles down a razor back ridge while eluding grizzlies (this area is known for griz attacks during elk season)??? Rob will help me, though it still seems like quite the task...but I have to do it because I'm an omnivore and I have to know that I am capable of getting my own meat -- I don't want to always have to rely on Rob's harvests.
I baked HEAVENLY bread last night. HEAVENLY.
