My roomate just got some rare and *ahem* expensive whisky from Scotland. I think we're going to have a wee dram on my birthday.

The wood covering the doorway is reclaimed subfloor from the suite next door as well.

The framing could be just a little more loose. And i don't mean the door framing.

Though multiple exposures were taken to balance indoor and outdoor, different captures should have been done at different colour temperatures to balance the tungsten bulbs with the overcast natural lighting from the window.

Julius Shulman always dictated that lighting levels should be balanced between indoor and outdoor, rather than having blown-out windows. But when the outdoor scenery looks like this, I'm not sure if it actually benefits the image. I think I would feel differently about it if it were spring and that tree outside had leaves on its branches.
