Chocolate-Orange Sushi Cake

    Orange Chiffon cake with chocolate-orange buttercream filling. Wrapped in chocolate "nori." Topped with vanilla buttercream and Jell-o "roe." Fondant wasabi and ginger.

      Wow! The lighting for this was perfect. It's glowing...as salmon roe should. Awesome cake BTW.

      Thanks all! I have to say, the lighting really hides the flaws. This cake still makes me happy though. Something about the jiggliness of it, and the way the balls avalanched onto the plate when we cut it.

      Thank you, thank you. The jello balls were molded in an ice cube tray I found at a Japanese import store in Seattle. (Now I wish I had more than one!) They are approx. 1" in diameter.
