a couple of posts ago, i mentioned my ambivalance about the wide range of post-processing possibiities in the digital age. but i am reminded of the range of printing techniques used in the 19 century to create very different effects.
this image is in the style of cyanotype processing, popular before silver nitrates were used. other kinds of processing: daguerrotypes, salt prints, albumen, ambrotypes, carbon, tintypes, crystoleum, gum bichromate, etc. see for some examples.
