Another shot from the snowshoe hike. This little pool fed by a glacier creek was well hidden in the mountainous valley and unreachable by foot (unless on snowshoes). Our guide told us the locals love to bathe there in summer. Obviously, we passed.

Technically, it's a HDR from a single RAW, processed in Photomatix to bring out color and contrast (the original is pretty grey). Nik Software Viveza for retouching a few bland spots as well as Sharpener Pro for the final crispiness. Denoising with Noiseware Professional.

Took this on an amazing snowshoeing trip today. Nobody around us for miles, fresh snow - total bliss.

I spontaneously pulled out the camera on a hike in the bavarian pre-alps when I saw these fascinating, painting-like layers of firs, snow, rocks and sky.

No editing except for polishing (denoising, b/w conversion, sharpening all with Nik Software) - it DID look like this.

One of 2011s personal highlights was a visit to the Fincube sample house in South Tyrol. Co-inventor Josef Innerhofer showed us around and provided passionate and fascinating insight.
