The Intersection of Earth and Sky

How is it that the intersection of the earth and the sky can be so brilliant and intriguing, filled with tonal complexities and layer upon layer of subtlety?

Is the battle between light and dark, night and day more detailed than I could have ever imagined?

Is it a simple thing that I observe or is it rich in all of the complexities of the universe?

I read that a volcano in Russia recently erupted and sent some particular aerosols into the atmosphere and that on this morning and for the next few weeks that every sunrise and sunset was going to be just a little more beautiful than normal.

I cannot disagree with that statement, but I'd like to think that it was merely the specialness of the place I found myself in that created the masterpiece of light I was able to admire and capture with my well beaten Nikon D300.

    Glorius sunrise.

But then again when I come to think of it, I have never seen a surnise or sunset that wasn't beautiful... some it seems are just more extraordinary than others.

I need to find myself appreciating more of them.

I agree Terranoesis! It always amazes me that the sun should grace us with this show twice a day... and that it should somehow be able to create ten thousand shades of color for us to enjoy! Have a great new year!
