Inspired by Shao Kahn

Inspired by Shao Kahn

Well, I know his cape was red. But, the Orc's Cape's are much larger and with a better quality photo I could go into photoshop and have a red light make the cape appear red-ish. Or I could always spray-paint the cape red but I'm a bit of a LEGO purist.

Remember, this is NOT Shao Kahn, but inspired by him.

Anyways, thought it was a while since I've posted and well -- I personally think this is a bad-arse lookin' fig.

I know I could have used the old ninja samurai piece, but it doesn't hold a candle to how cool this helmet it given it has spikes and there is no official armor from LEGO that has spikes on the shoulders. I was more concerned about getting the face right and this helmet frames the face perfectly.

LEGO Medicine Man and his horse!

LEGO Medicine Man and his horse!

I just opened my LEGO western set with the medicine man and his special horse and a fellow Indian. But the Medicine man is so cool! With his face paint, killer hat, shield, pack of weapons, and decorated horse, I knew I should have got these instead of duplicate Insectoids.

LEGO Grand Carousel's disembodied Joker heads smile, grin, smirk, and snarl at you!

LEGO Grand Carousel's disembodied Joker heads smile, grin, smirk, and snarl at you!

LEGO didn't miss a detail on their Grand Carousel.

Their disembodied heads scare the pants right off them akin to the heads in Disney's Haunted House that smirk, smile (classic LEGO smile not pictured), grin and scowl at you! If I were a minifig I'd run so fast from those heads.

Maybe they are there to give a secret waring. Since the top without the canvas has an uncanny resemblance to the opening of CERN's Large Hadron Collider (look at my other pic for reference), maybe they warn the riders that the carousel spins so fast it it opens up a wormhole. All the gold and the diamonds serve a different and dark purpose of powering the Large Carousel Collider. Where does it go? Somewhere different every time? To the future where they have the Futurama-esue technology to keep those decorative decapitated heads alive and well? No one knows.

From :"Contact" with Jodie Foster and John Hurt playing Haden from Haden Industries:

Haden to Jodie Foster:
"Wanna take a ride?"

The LEGO Grand Carousel looks the the opening to the CERN's Large Hadron Collider!

To work at LEGO and design set you must have an engineering degree and thus I assume that this aerial view (before putting the decrative "helmet" on top) does resemble the opening to the Large Hadron Collider I will assume this was intended by the designer at LEGO, rather then merely being a coincidence.

Oh LEGO, that is soooooo sexy!
