Boats in a row

Boats in a row

The little fishermen pier at Negombo (Sri Lanka) is a beautiful source of inspiration for gorgeously colored shots. Upon my coming back home, I had many of them I liked as final results and this is one of them =)

- HDR: False HDR from just 1 exposure, saved at -2 through +2EV with camera raw and then merged
- Treatment: Toning, color cast, sharpness and vignette

Hotels

Hotels

Every time you look from one shore of the Arno river to the other one, there always is something new to discover and some new framing to be captured.
This time I went with the geometrical composition of these two famous hotels in Florence. I keep wondering if more still waters would have accounted for a better photo, but in the end I find the ripples to be quite captivating =)
This photo, too, was taken during the morning photo walk with the photoclub.

- Treatment: Camera raw, levels, curves and vib/sat

Hansell

Hansell

I've started a "basic photography" course in my city some weeks ago and last Sunday we had a brief group walk around Florence on the sole purpose of taking pictures.
After some time, we had a scheduled "session" with Hansell, a much beloved portrait subject from our tutors.
Even if I don't love being one of 30 lenses pointed towards a man, I ended up with this shot I found worthwile of some retouching.
Thanks to Hansell for friendly enduring almost 1 hour of photos ^^

- Treatment: Precorrection in camera raw, microcontrast, some glamour (?) touches

Bajaj

Bajaj

This vehicle just dominates the roads in Sri Lanka. You can see it in highways, town roads and even country roads, transporting everything from people to... bananas! =)
Contrarily to what I had heard about those bajajs in India, I have found the drivers in Sri Lanka to be extremely respectful of pedestrians.

- Treatment: Color correction, zonal sharpening, some vignette

Tea harvesting

Tea harvesting

Sri Lanka (ex Ceylon) is quite famous for the quality of the tea cultivated and refined on its soil. I had the occasion of visiting a tea factory and having a nice tour up and down the hills where the plants are grown and harvested. It is a fascinating environment, which offers a multitude of inspirational shots. People employed in tea harvesting are mainly Tamil women "for their sleight of hand", as our guide said. This particular woman, like the majority of Singalese people, was really collaborative and quite happy of letting me take pictures of her trade.

- Treatment: Camera raw correction, some contrast and brightness adjustments
