Bluetooth microphone placement

Bluetooth microphone placement

The install manual recommends placing the microphone away from the phone. I thought this would be a good spot where in could pick up my voice easily enough and was as far away as possible from where I keep my phone when driving. Initial tests seem to be that it can pick up my voice fine when on a call.

KDC-X994 Off

Here is the head unit powered off. It's a little shiny, but there is very little metal which is a welcome change from most of the current available units.
