well.. I did so - and it killed my phone. It looks like it is a general issue - other ended up with a dead phone too.
The update software shows this - on the phone screen a sort of Nokia test software that is stucked.. after removing the battery - the boot screen loops forever.. bye bye E70.

Firmware Version 1.0610.05.06. The software doesn't tell to what version it is trying to update!
