After spending more than $500 bucks for a clunky mobile that does not fit into the average pocket, these future iPhoners will need to sign a contract and sign up for EDGE broadband service if they want to use the device's Wi-Fi functionality.
Otherwise, it's nothing but a coaster.

I have yet to figure out this whole thing. Camping out for a phone???? Zeppelin tickets maybe (wait, I have done that) but never for a phone. My luck and I would drop it off a ladder the first week I had the thing....do these people have jobs?????? Good God.....

I love Apple products....I'm writing from my 5-year-old PowerBook. It has never crashed on me or been infected by viruses. But, damn...this is just buying into some mind control. I bet they would never do this for more important things....like voting or volunteering somewhere.

Volunteering somewhere and/or voting cannot negate the sad condition of these iPhone-wait-in-liners.
Ravening hiptards who wait in line for 36 hours hoping for a chance to spend extravagantly on a newish version of a functional necessity – in this case a cell phone - lack ambition, lack creativity above all lack critical thinking skills.

The cost of the phone + contract for a fully functional phone is over $2000 for 2 years time. Wonder if these phones will not drop calls.
Do you ever notice how Apple usually fails to mention that thier
products are made in communist China ? Is it HIP to buy products
made from SOCIAL(Slave) labor ? Just some food for thought.

It's not hip, but it sure is American. Check most products at Wal-Mart, Target or any number of stores and most come from the world's factory -- China.
