I know I'm late to the party, but holy cow, what a great shot (and sign). Congratulations on making Explore (again), Dane!

You were there! Isn't it fab? But you didn't stop to EAT?!?!?!?!

    9. Dania Hurley 46 months ago | reply

      Me too, TXphotoblog!

Thanks, Greg! I actually feel a little bad that this got so popular and it's such a bad shot! :)

Jen: Couldn't stop to eat, unfortunately. But maybe there'll be a next time.

Here is one that is now on my list of must eat and must shoot signs and food! You had all types of obstacles with the chain link fence, lights and wires, so you actually did very well! Some day this sign will be gone and it will be one of your prized captures forever.

      Holy crap!

That'd be worth the drive alone!

WTF? I lived in Lexington, KY, for a few years. Where the heck is this place?

      What a great sign.

There was a place in Cynthiana that had some mighty fine chicken. It would be worth finding out if this place could top it.
      ------
Dammit! Found it on a map of Lexington. I must have driven by a thousand times. How did I miss it? They have Chicago hot dogs and fried baloney sandwiches. I must have been out of my mind.

One of the most amazing signs I have ever seen on Flickr, or in real life, for that matter. Thanks so much for posting this!

You're welcome, I just wish the photo itself weren't such crap! :)

I clicked on the link, and there's an article about The Parkette being featured on an upcoming episode of Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. It should be good!

OK people a "Chicken" box is chicken, fries/O-rings, slaw in a cardboard box. The "Shrimp" box has shrimp...

Wanna see some interior shots of the Parkette?

Oh, you're being nice. :) Sorry, it's been so long since I read through the comments here, I didn't grasp that last sentence at first. Thanks for the links to your pictures - I'll go check them out.

    19. Starling Lee Brown 32 months ago | reply

Oh my...I see that that sentence, which I wrote, can be interpreted in a negative way.

I should have said: I like your shot and you should not say it is crap.

Thank you very kindly. :) Your shot of the hot dog alone is tempting me to drive all the way back down there for one.
