I just can't get enough of this Opera House. It has mesmerized me since Jenn and I were in Sydney back in January. Luckily every time I process a new photo from the trip I get to enjoy those sweet memories. Isn't it wonderful how photography can bring us right back to a place?

How this was made:
Canon 5d mkII, Canon 16-35mm f2.8 II
F11, ISO 640, 35mm, 15sec

5 Bracketed Exposures taken on location. Combined using the Merge to 32-bit HDR plugin, then adjusted in lightroom. Then taken into photoshop and enhanced using NIK Color Efex pro 4, Viveza, and Define to reach the final result.

My brother Jon got married in Vancouver Washington over the new year and I have been so busy lately I haven't had a chance to work on some of the photo's I took while Jenn and I were at the wedding. We stayed at the Hilton just down the street so it was easy to grab my camera and run out and snap a few photo's around downtown Vancouver. As you can see it was a beautiful blue hour which always makes me happy.

Canon 5d mkII, Canon 16-35mm f2.8 II
F16, ISO 100, 26mm, 20sec

Exposure Blending. Using Merge to 32-bit HDR Plugin plus the -1 exposure for the sky I blended the exposures until they were balanced together. Then using NIK Color Efex pro 4, and Define I enhanced the colors and contrast. Added small vignette in Lightroom before export.

102 today in Glendale CA. I guess this means we are kicking summer off with a bang!

Isn't it funny that I actually pray for clouds in LA? The weather is so great here getting clouds is actually a rare thing rather then the norm. Thank you LA for some amazing clouds last night!

f16, ISO 160, 20mm, 2:45 min

Shot was taken with a modified Coken Zpro Filter holder and a LEE Big Stopper 10stop ND Filter.
Processing in Lightroom, Photoshop. Plug-ins uses where Nik Color Efex Pro 4, Define 2, and Viveza 2.

One of the first photo's I took of the Opera House but almost one of the last processed. I always kinda start with the blue hour ones (Because I love that look) and sometimes forget about the sunset. But man I love how this one turned out. I just love the color change in the sky! Its really wonderful. Hope you like it too!
