A small portion of an enormous 270 degree panorama on our recent Death Valley trip. The hills are filled with old mines, historic ghost towns, cabins to stay in, hot springs and the occasional desert oasis with tree-lined creek. Reaching much of it requires detailed research, a high-clearance 4 Wheel drive like this, and a little luck.

My friends and I just got back from our annual Death Valley trip. Nothing captures the strangeness and solitude of the desert like a Holga toy camera. It uses medium format 120 film, yet its imperfections and flaws can create a ghostly and unpredictable image. A Holga camera is the perfect way to capture the essence of an imperfect, decaying world.

Due to a transporter malfunction during a rescue mission, Gilligan ends up in the Captain's chair while Captain Kirk is sent down to the island.

I've had this in the back of my mind for quite a while but didn't have the time to put it together until today. Most of it was easy to compose, but small parts of it took a lot of time. Uses 12 visible Photoshop layers and 10 temporary / alternate layers. Total editing time, about 6 hours.
