Used to join a chamfered tube of 1/2" Pex-Al-Pex (one layer pex tubing, one layer aluminum tubing, one layer pex) to a 1/2" MPT. Brass with rubber O-Rings.

Strobist: Studio light with an umbrella from the upper left. White background is poster board. White posterboard on the right for a reflector. Shot with an 85mm PC-e at full downward tilt. I love that lens.

Highlights are a little blown. I guess I need more diffusion. Softbox?

The glass is apparently replaceable for between $80 and $200.

Strobist: SB-900 on camera, angled up and back, bounced for fill. Remote SB-800 held by Jack on the stairs angled down at right wall. SB-600 on stand around corner, aimed at far back wall for rear fill. Ambient sunlight through the kitchen door.

Details: Wall was created using 1 gallon of paint, two cups of white unsanded tile grout, mixed to grout instructions, half gallon at a time. We edged and filled with a roller. Two coats. I used 9 chalk sticks to prime the wall.
