(NEW) Project 365: Day 1, Enigma (Competition Winner!)

Decided i didnt take my last project seriously enough, so heres a new one for a new year and a new state of mind. More dedication on this one, I promise.

Guess what this is, i will be very surprised if you get it. Ill tweet the answer tomorrow!

[UPDATE] I have decided the imagination makes this image all the more interesting, so I'll keep the subject my closely guarded secret.

    EXPLORE: Jan 1st 2010, #21 - Thanks guys.

This image won me $100 and got 1st place on the January RAW photo competition for the theme "Whats that?"

Phillip Greenspun (Photo.net founder) - "I've looked at this photo quite a few times, but still have no inkling as to what it might be. The lines are very interesting and the image would probably work pretty well as a black and white, which is one sign of a good composition."

    Awesome.

what type of lenses did you use?

    27. OllieGapper (29 months ago | reply)

      - I used a Sigma 70-300 DG macro lens. Not a great telephoto but it gets me by for macro. It was @300mm at closest focus.

the Sigma 70-300 DG is compatible w/ ur nikon D90? how so :O
sorry im new at this xD..but i thought the only lenses compatible Nikon cameras were lenses made by Nikon.

    35. OllieGapper (29 months ago | reply)

      - third party manufacturers make their lenses in a variety of mounts. Sigma, Tamron, Quantary, Zeiss, etc. all make their lenses in Nikon and other mounts. Though I do recommend sticking to Nikon for quality and performance.
