to all my friends who have sent prayers for Carl, i thank you!!! he still has tests to go through but we are hopeful that he will be well. please keep him in your prayers!!! xxxooo

these flowers are so perfect, so delicate and fine--so like us--fragile and beautiful.

i want so very much to be zen and to flow with the ebbs and tides of life. but i suck at that, or rather, i excel when all is going well. my husband has not been feeling well and i ask that you remember him in your prayers. thanks so much!

Holly Clark's (soupatraveler) project "from where i stand" really appeals to me and now more than ever!!! i work in the Chinatown part of Boston and there is so much to see/shoot and one of the things that really speaks to me are these large squares with different designs on them. some of the meanings seem obvious to me (although i may be wrong) and others are a total mystery--and i like that!!!! so i have made it my business to photograph all of the squares that are there. i want to thank Holly because i don't know if i would have paid the attention to the ground i walk on half as much if i wasn't trying to look for interesting spots to stand on!!!!

today was a really great day!!! first, my hassy finally arrived, then getty wrote to me to request 39 more photos and THEN when i got home, my copy of "In America" by Eve Arnold had arrived. very good indeed!!!!
