The Path to Fairytales (Wild Garlic Wood, Silverdale)

    Newer Older

This is a woodland path in the area of Silverdale in Lancashire. This is a quite area south of Arnside and bordered by Morecambe Bay. It has some beautiful ancient woodland and wonderful wild garlic growth suported by the limestone bedrock. It is one of the few low level limestone areas in the country. I liked the fairytale feel of this image hence the title - is Little Red Riding Hood round the corner?
