Dove Dale, Peak District

Dove Dale, Peak District

One of the most popular spots in the Peak District is Dove Dale. It is a 3 mile riverside walk from the car park up to Mill Dale. This photo was taken just above the stepping stones, a few hundred metres from the car park.

Monsal Head Viaduct, Peak District

Monsal Head Viaduct, Peak District

Looking down on the Monsal Head Viaduct, a popular walking and cycling destination. Just to the left of the photo, the old tunnel, and the 3 other tunnels between Bakewell and Buxton, has been re-opened, and the Monsal Trail is now a very popular cycling route.

Elizabeth Castle Causeway, Jersey

Elizabeth Castle Causeway, Jersey

2 hours either side of low tide, you can cross to Elizabath Castle via the causeway. At other times blue amphibious vehicles operate out to the castle.

Plemont Beach Waterfall, Jersey

Plemont Beach Waterfall, Jersey

At high tide you might wonder what all the fuss is about, with the stairs leading down straight to the sea.
However at low tide, Plemont Beach is transformed into an explorers paradise, with many small caves, and a waterfall dropping straight onto the beach. The sand is lovely and clean, with cliffs heading straight up from the beach.

Plemont is on the Jersey coast path, with Gros Nez a couple of easy miles to the west, and La Greve de Lecq a rather more strenuous 2.5 miles to the east.
