Nice. Will you describe the materials you
used on the back wall... I'm assuming it's a
flat wall that you make look 3D (with the
arch and stairs and windows). Is it all a
large banner (or series of banners)?
I've posted a couple more angles shots of the
stage on my profile. We made two walls, the
front is the one with the arch and a back
wall with the staircase. That way people can
still get on and off the stage. This also
gave us the ability to hand the chandler in
the middle. We have a hp color plotter which
prints 42in wide and the paper comes in rolls
100ft long. So I designed the back walls in
photoshop and printed them out in sections
and put them up like wall paper. And then we
incorporated some real objects like the
curtain and pic frames.
"Boy the way Glen Miller played, songs
that made the hit parade, guys like us we had
it made, those were the days...."
This _has_ to be inspired by the set of
"All In The Family". I so can hear
Archie Bunker calling yelling at Meathead
right now....
Top marks for this, love to see church's
going the extra mile with their environments.
Would love to see some of the other materials
you and your team did for this (ie series
branding, bulletin, roll-in, etc)
I tell my wife to stifle periodically because
of that show. hahahaha. She's not as
"submissive" as Edith was! I get a
good laugh, but I usually end up paying for
it.
Great job. Would you mind me asking how much
you think it cost to print this set with your
plotter? Great job!
@chad I have a bulletin that we did with this
series, I'm new to the flickr and can't get
the cool links yet but if you look in my
photo stream you can see it. We also did a
intro video, looks like i have to upgrade to
a pro account for that.
@solar: Don't remind me about the piano, it
looks lighter then it really is. We have a
black piano but it didn't look to good, so we
brought the worship leader's piano from home,
my back is still aching... They didn't like
my idea of hiding the keyboard in back of a
print out. Can't win all of them.
@ghammon It usually runs us about $1 a square foot to
print in house. I need to re calculate since
I've been using a super heavy weight matte
paper now. But average is $1. The back was
240 sq. ft. and the front wall was about
360sqft.. so total was about $600... wow... I
think real wallpaper would have been less.
Oh chucks! Definitely worth it.

I love how that piano looks like it just belongs. I know that was intended, but it even matches the furniture.
