Philippine Rabbit Isuzu CVK-761 (fleet No 825) on the Naguilian Road between Baguio and Bauang, La Union, Philippines.
Photo taken on December 2, 1986
Philippine Rabbit Isuzu CVK-761 (fleet No 825) on the Naguilian Road between Baguio and Bauang La Union, Philippines. The bus body was built by Bupar Motors exclusively for Philippine Rabbit Bus Lines.
The bus may have commenced its journey in Baguio and was en route to Laoag. I was travelling with friends and the bus has pulled over for a refreshment stop. We were travelling from Baguio to Bauang.

Can anybody in the Philippines tell me if this bus would have a Fuso or a Mitsubishi chassis?
rabbit tours (41 months ago | reply)
@sir express
by the way sir thank you for giving me a copy of your old photos,
base on what i see, the bus has an emblem of isuzu meaning to say this one is a Fuso.
philippine rabbit (41 months ago | reply)
hmm, it might be an Isuzu engine mounted on a chassis and body exclusively made by Bupar Motors for Philippine Rabbit Bus Lines..
express000 (41 months ago | reply)
Thanks for your information dAnz08 and philippine rabbit, I have now altered the details to state that the bus is an Isuzu.

astig the 0riginal PRBL bring back the old days...
arkirob (41 months ago | reply)
Isuzu is different from Fuso. Fuso & MItsubishi is just one & the same. Just like Nissan & Datsun also just one & the same. That's why it's not right to say having an emblem of Isuzu means it is already Fuso because they are not the same engine company.

sorry it's naguilian road or bauang-baguio road....

Philippine Rabbit is the bus company I know that heavily used Isuzus for the fleet (when almost everybody else is using Fusos). I'm talking of provincial bus companies.

thanks for the info....
express000 (41 months ago | reply)
Thanks to arkirob for explaining that Isuzu and Fuso are not connected. I have now corrected the information to Isuzu only.
I really appreciate your help and I appreciate the interst all of you are showing in these pictures from 1980s.

Looks like this picture was taken during a stop in Sablan, La Union along Naguilian road rather than Marcos Highway.

I have decided to change the information to Nagullian Road as I am sure vojoboy and newromantiicism023 are both right in what they say.
It is a long time since I have been to these parts of the Philippines and my memory has become a little faded.
I am always grateful for any corrections that are provided to me as I want to have the correct information on every occasion if possible.
Would any body be able to tell me which road is known as the Marcos Highway. I would like to know the two towns that are linked by it.
I do remember passing along the Marcos Highway on at least one occasion and seeing the massive head or likeness of Marcos. It certainly was a landmark on this road.

Express000, I bet you are talking about Rosario, La Union and Pugo, La Union. Those are the two towns you will pass by if you are en route to Baguio City travelling Marcos Highway.
Wow! I loved you for giving us back the memories of time that had passed by. I think I was 1 year old when this photo was taken. You kept the photo for public viewing. That is amazingly awesome!
You are such a globetrotter.
SaintChristopher-FOR THE WOUNDS THAT NEVER HEALED (36 months ago | reply)
edmund_sabado- Sir, I think sir express000 is referring to the Baguio- Ilocos line where bus pass by Baguio- Naguillan Road, Bauang La Union, San Fernando La Union and so on going to Ilocos.
Wow, were almost of the same age bracket sir edmund_sabado! ehehe
