South Shore 2001 backs into the Kingsbury Industrial Park and off of the former Wabash ROW which once continued straight west into the trees to Gary, IN.

CSS GP38-2 2001 has just backed off of former NKP trackage onto the former Wabash 4th district at Dillon, IN and is shoving westbound toward the Kingsbury Industrial Park over a mile to the west.

CSS GP38-2 2001 has just backed off of former NKP trackage onto the former Wabash 4th district at Dillon, IN and is shoving westbound toward the Kingsbury Industrial Park over a mile to the west. The trackage I am standing on once crossed the NKP IMC Branch on a diamond behind me where it continued east to Montpelier, OH. Until 1999 or so the NS used the line to access Pine, IN where they turned north on former NJI&I trackage to reach South Bend, IN. The track was abandoned and removed to this point in the early 2000's with NS favoring the much shorter former Conrail route into the South Bend industrial area.
