Foggy Morning

Foggy Morning

Sandstone Falls
New River
New River Gorge

A quick edit from an incredible early morning shoot with several good friends. We were all scrambling around like crazy trying to capture the beauty of the fog before the rising sun burned it away to reveal a cloudless sky.

Exposed

Elakala Falls #1
Shay's Run
Blackwater Falls State Park

After catching up with everyone about three weeks ago, life happened and I find myself behind again! From manning a booth at a trade show helping my publishing company promote my book, to working on new books and working on a new website, I've found it difficult to squeeze in some flickr time!

For some of you, the image I've posted today is one you've already seen. I first posted it here on flickr a couple years ago and more recently over on Google Plus. I'm reposting it today to make everyone aware of an awesome new publication that I was honored to have played a small role.

The inaugural issue of Exposed - G+ Photography Journal launched about ten days ago and the response has been incredible! Inside this eZine you will find amazing images from talented photographers from around the world as well as a few very informative articles. One of those articles is about the waterfalls of Blackwater Falls State Park, written by me and includes todays image along with several more images from the waterfall haven that is Blackwater Falls State Park! Download your free issue today! (For some reason, flickr won't allow me to directly link to the eZine, so the link above takes you to the post on Google Plus where you will find the link for downloading.)

Many thanks to Nick Gatens, Levi Moore and Geoff Yale for their tireless efforts in creating such an incredible publication! They are already hard at work on the second issue, looking forward to seeing what they come up with!

Another Look

Dunloup Creek
New River Gorge

After photographing this waterfall from creek level, I took another look around the scene before leaving. I couldn't pass up capturing the beautiful fall leaves in the foreground and the sweet light in the background. Thanks for looking and I appreciate your comments!

Brush Creek Falls
Bluestone River Tributary
Mercer County

After posting a couple Kentucky images, it's back to posting images from West Virginia! In recent weeks I posted a couple images of Brush Creek Falls showing some unique perspectives; here's a more traditional view . . . Thanks for looking and I very much appreciate your comments!

Worthwhile

Worthwhile

Eagle Falls
Daniel Boone National Forest

Eagle Falls was the final stop on a quick waterfall chase last week in Kentucky's Daniel Boone National Forest with good friends Bill Fultz, Jason Haley and Todd Williams. The Eagle Falls trail offers dramatic riverside and cliffside views of the magnificent Cumberland Falls and River and is only 3/4 mile in length, but with the many steep ascents and descents, it certainly felt like a much longer distance. However, upon reaching this beautiful scene, I knew that the effort involved was without a doubt worthwhile.
