Big Field, Bigger Sky

Big Field, Bigger Sky

I decided on a complete whim yesterday (as the weather was much better than forecast!) to make the 90 mile round trip from Bath to this field to get a better skyscape than I had on my previous two visits. I was hoping for fluffy clouds and blue skies that I had driven through, but in hindsight I really like the contrast between light/shadow covered field and the moody grey sky.

An afternoon on the river

An afternoon on the river

Go for a little recce along the Thames. Spot composition. Tide going out. How long until it's back? 2.5hours. Walk along South Bank. Shoot Southwark Cathedral. Walk around Borough Market. Walk back. Still not there. Sit and drink tea in Starbucks. Eat fruit bread. Come back. Stand in spot for 30 minutes waiting for tide to rise perfectly. Take shot. Happy. Slightly damp feet.

along the boardwalk

along the boardwalk

I popped out yesterday to take some shots with my film camera, but this composition at Boscombe Pier was far too good not for me to make sure I got right in digital too!

Walk Into The Light

Walk Into The Light

A mad dash tonight to Waterloo beach in Liverpool (as I'm here for a couple of days) and I managed to get this shot of my favourite iron men! Hard to believe 5 minutes later it had completely clouded over here....
