Lately, I've been going through a bit of a dry spell with taking and editing photos. Life, school and thoughts seem to inhibit my creative bone, but with time, those old, innovative ways are unearthed. Regrettably, I don't have anything new to show, so I've decided to re-edit and rediscover photos I've forgotten about, or lost within the depths of my poorly organized archives.
With this edit, I was aiming for a vintage feel. Whether I achieved that or not, is questionable.

Another Dead Man's Bones creation inspired by their song, "Flowers Grow Out of My Grave".

This photo was taken last year, 2010, during my fall break from college. Shortly after my week-long visit home, I returned to school to finish up the rest of semester. I don't exactly remember when, but sometime after returning to college, my dad called me up for what I thought would be one of our routine chats. Unfortunately, he was calling to inform me of this little guy's demise.
Tigger enjoyed the outdoors and spent most days basking in rays of sunlight. Literally, he did nothing else in his old-age. Rarely did he ever venture far from home, but that day he decided to give the highway a try. I was incredibly upset, admittedly, like anyone who is attached to a pet would be. He was my companion for well over 10 years, so the news came as a shock.
I cannot imagine how much more it would have hurt if I would've been home at the time. I maintained my composure for the most part, but for about a week thereafter a few episodes of intense nostalgia and remembrance pursued. Followed by tears, of course.
I feel this photo encompasses everything Tigger was. Confident, poised and graceful. I'm lucky to have such a memento.

I enjoy days like this. Those quiet, calm and untroubled days are the best. Plus, I always enjoy some good, wholesome natural light. Artificial light, fluorescent especially, gives me a sense of uneasiness. I'm irrationally distracted by it. Give me the sun.
