A small visitor
I was trying to get a decent shot of this mushroom to show both it's bright red cap and the membranes underneath. I didn't notice the visitor until I got home.

Handicapped spider
While I was trying to get a good photo of a couple other mushrooms on this tree stump, I noticed this spider and a few friends hanging out there too. Looks like this one ran into some trouble in the past, as he's only got 7 legs.

Dewdrop shelves
We got to the valley early enough that the dew had yet to evaporate. This set of shelf mushrooms had several drops on it.

Stop at Rondout
After leaving the Conversations About Photography conference sponsored by the Center for Rail Photography and Art, I stopped at Rondout, Illinois, to take a quick shot of the scene. A friend of mine built an NTrak module based on this location. The former North Shore Line roadbed is to the right of this view (and not visible in this picture).
