Boulder Loop Trail Vista
Craggy...
The form of this beautiful tree just demanded to be captured. I looked for a way to incorporate the nice boulder at the tree's base, but the tree just insisted on this profile. Also, the shadows on the grassy knoll were working. I'm really happy with the resolution I can get from the IR-converted D5000 and this lens (shot more carefully on this hike with tripod and focus via liveview).

Nighty-night?
Seemed like these birds were settling down for a snooze, and more than anything, I wanted to see what they were doing in the dark and see if their motion would work. Meh. Slightly interesting.
