Nickname: Old Canaries (after the yellow facings on its uniform, worn from 1816 to 1971)

Modern Art

Modern Art

The lock cover has the crown and VR cypher of queen Victoria.
Unfortunately this padlock was brought to the surface by a tractor and the exposure to air has rusted it completely, but it has a certain appeal to lovers of rustic art !

Henry III Silver Short Cross Penny, 13th Century

Henry III Silver Short Cross Penny, 13th Century

I have placed this as a class 7b of Henry III London mint.
It could possibly be earlier, either Henry II or King John, it's hard to be certain unless you are an expert.
Found in the Faversham area of Kent, UK

mystery object

mystery object

Just over an inch long (27x 7mm)
Gold plated copper alloy.

I am not sure what it is, but it must have been important to have been gold plated.
If I had to guess I would say part of a Roman key ?

Large scalloped lead disc 40mm

It isn't a dress or curtain weight and it's unlikely to be a button unless it was once covered in material.
