on the left is the first draft. thanks for your help. the right is the next try. this is a monthly newsletter, so i can keep improving. the tree will change with the seasons as will the colors. it prints on cream paper.

    Really clean layout.

    Only suggestion I would make is to try and move away from the papyrus font.

    How will the layout on the rest of the page look? I like the idea of changing the trees but be careful of the winter tree. That may end up looking dreary.

    yeah, papyrus is gone...although i have to say there are people still asking for it. i am working on the winter one now...

    oh yeah, the rest of the layout changes monthly with whatever is chosen by others to get the front page. usually a photo/photos and article of some sort. i don't have much control of content/pictures.

    You've simplified it and that helps...but it still looks rough.

    Some suggestions:
    - Stick with one type treatment
    - Fit the footer on one line
    - Lose the tree, go with something vector instead
    - Develop a grid for the articles and photos to go in so that you have some control over presentation
